Players gain points when they pass through gates.

    • Scatter a dozen 5 foot gates around a large playing space.

    • Ball for every player

    • Disc cones

  • Players try to pass through as many gates as they can in the time given.

    1. Each player starts with a ball

    2. Players dribble the ball inside the area.

    3. Coach calls "GO” and players try to dribble through as many gates as possible in a set time limit.

    4. Players Count the number of gates they pass through before time is called.

**Begin the warm-up without a ball - use a ball once players understand the exercise.

    • Increase/decrease gate size.

    • Challenge: add a defender to apply pressure. They can only block the goal, they can not steal the ball

    • Remind players to have soft touches on the ball- to keep it close to them.

    • Praise students for accelerating through a gate.

    • Players should be looking up as much as possible!

Reflection: Responsible Decision Making

Remember, today we are talking about responsible decisions.

1. How did you decide which gate to go to next?

2. How did you keep track of the number of gates you went through?

-We make small decisions every day that affect our life in big and small ways.

3. What’s a decision you can make today to be the best teammate for your team?
