Sandcastle Battle
Players practice aim by shooting at cones set up by their partners.
-
Divide players into pairs
Players begin 40 ft. apart with 2 cones (sand castles) placed in between them (tall cones are better if you have them)
-
2 Ball for every pair
2 cones for each pair
-
To hit the cone and make it move.
-
Player B places two cones at various distances between A and B. (they choose the spots)
Player A kicks the ball while trying to hit and move each cone.
Player B collects the balls and Player A moves the cones to new spots.
Player B takes a turn trying to hit the cones.
Players earn points each time they hit the sand castle.
-
Increase/decrease space between sand castles.
Use non-dominant foot
-
Remind players to make an “L” with their feet
Point your non-kicking foot at the target
Reflection: Self-Management
1. How does it feel when you score a point?
2. What is the best way to celebrate while still being respectful to the other team?
Can create a celebration that is quick with your team
Compliment the other team for their hard work/defense
