Team relay race with a circus twist!

    • Create a start and finish line

    • Cones (optional)

  • The goal of this game is to race as a team!

  • 1. Have players make lines of 5 to 6 players behind a hula hoop.

    2. One team member steps inside the hula hoop while the other players each hold the hoop with one hand. Instruct the person inside the hula hoop to not touch it.

    3. Once all clown cars are assembled, the teams race to a specific spot (like cones). 4. At the end spot (the cones), teams must complete a task. For example, every student must pass through the hoop (mini-hula hoop race).

    5. Then, another student gets in the center of the hula hoop and everyone else holds the hoop with one hand, and the team races back to the starting point.

  • Create a penalty if some of the races lose contact with the hula hoop (e.g. 5 second car “break down” where they can’t move).

    More obstacles during the race

Older students: student inside the hoop is blindfolded.

    • Allow players to practice

    • Pause game if there is a safety concern or someone falls down

Reflection: Relationship Skills & Social Awareness
