Definition
Passing is when a player kicks the ball to another player on the team.
Skill
Give and Go: 2 quick passes to get around and behind an opponent.
2 teammates face a single defender. Player 1 with the ball dribbles to the defender, makes a pass to Player 2 and runs behind the defender. Player 2 makes a return pass to Player 1.
Coaching Points
1. Highlight the teamwork involved
2. Aim for just one or two touches on the ball when passing
3. The quicker the passes, the less likely the ball will be stolen
Advanced
Overlap: Player 1 is dribbling at a defender, Player 2 runs behind Player 1 and up to the other side of the field, Player 1 passes to Player 2.
