1v1 Domination

1 V 1 Game with 4 gates players score by dribbling through. 

• Set Up

  • Medium playing field with boundaries

  • One gate in every corner, angled towards the center (4 gates total)

• Equipment

  • Balls

  • Disc cones

  • Pinnies

• Objective

  To score more points than the opposing team by dribbling through their gates.

• Directions

  1. Divide group into 2 equal teams and have them line up at each endline.

  2. On Coach’s Call, the first players from each team enter the field and play 1v1.

  3. Attacker has 2 goal options to dribble through in- defender has the same if they steal the ball.

  4. Players must dribble the ball through the gate.

• Variations

  • Switch roles of who begins with the ball.

  • Coach calls "new ball" if the ball goes out of play.

  • Introduce goalkeepers and shooting instead of dribbling to score.

• Coaching Points

  • Encourage players to try and bring their heads up

  • Small touches with the ball to protect it
