Freeze Triangle

Groups of 3 practice triangle passing with coach calls.

    • Place 3 cones in a triangle for each group

    • Create a large playing space with boundaries

    • Balls

    • Disc cones

  • To listen to the coach's call and perform the move quickly.

    1. Split the team into groups of 3 players. One ball per group.

    2. Players must pass around their cones clockwise.

    3. Coach says: “Freeze” Players freeze and listen.

      Options:

      1. Reverse Directions

      2. 2 touch pass-players trap the ball and pass

      3. Players without the ball switch

      4. Do a feint move at the cone before you pass

  • Challenging options:

    • Player with the ball has to change groups with another player with the ball

    • 1 touch pass-player receives and passes the ball again with just 1 touch

    • Remind players to communicate and use each other’s names “ball!” “pass here!”

    • Keep your head up! There will be other groups passing the ball in the same area.

Reflection: Social Awareness

1. How did you encourage your teammates?

2. What does teasing look like? What does it sound like? How do you feel when you are teased? How did it feel to be encouraged today?
