Pinnies
-
To score more points than the opposing team while players stay in their zones.
-
Create 5-player teams.
Two teams start on the field, and the next team sitting out rotates in for the team that is scored on OR after 3 minutes of play
2 players will stay in the zone closest to the goal, 2 players will be in the middle zone, and 1 player is in zone 3.
Objective of the game is for students to pass the ball at least once to their teammate that is in their zone. Once they complete the necessary passes, they then can pass the ball to their teammate in the next zone. Once the ball gets to the forward, the forward can try to score on the opposing team’s goal.
Example: both player in Zone 1 pass to each other, Zone 1 players pass to Zone 2, etc.
-
Challenge: increase the number of passes before players can pass into the next zone
Challenge: midfielders can join the forward in their zone after playing a pass
If you have an assistant coach or captains to help: set up multiple fields so players aren’t sitting out so long
-
Encourage players in different zones to create a passing option by moving to an open space
Highlight opportunities to form triangles and diamonds in passing
