Tick Tock on the Clock

Players dribble around the clock on the coach’s calls.

    • A large square playing area with 4 equal grids

    • Divide players evenly in each grid, each player has a ball

    • Balls- 1 per player

    • 8 Disc cones

    • 1 different colored cone for 12 o’clock

  • Players follow coaches calls to dribble in the correct areas and direction.

    1. “Dribble”-Players begin by dribbling around in their team’s grid.

    2. Introduce Clockwise and Counterclockwise Calls. Have players practice.

    3. Add Advanced Calls if players are ready.

      Coach Calls:

      • “Dribble” and the players stay in that grid dribbling.

      • "Clockwise", players dribble their ball in that direction into the next grid and freeze, with their foot on top of the ball not moving.

      • “Counter-clockwise” and they dribble to the counter-clockwise grid.

  • *Challenge: Coach calls additional commands:

    • “Criss Cross”- players dribble to the diagonal grid

    • “Midnight”-Have team choose a creative exercise/movement to do (jumping jacks, dribble like you are angry/happy/surprised)

    • -Use Right and Left if clockwise and counterclockwise are difficult

    • Encourage players to keep their head up as they follow the commands

    • Make it fun- when you say “criss-cross” they all shout back “APPLESAUCE!” as they move to where they should be
