A tag game with a skills challenge.

    • A large square playing field marked by boundaries

    • Area with soccer balls “hospital”

    • 3 Balls on either side of the boundary (optional)

    • Disc cones

  • The goal is to not be tagged by the other players.

  • 1. layers start in the grid with soccer balls on the outside.

    2. Inside the grid, you try to tag people. If you tag them, they must hold the body part that got tagged and yell “ouch!”

3.If they get tagged a 2nd time by someone else, they must hold that body part as well (now holding 2 body parts)

4.If they are tagged a 3rd time, they must run to a ball on the outside of the grid (hospital), perform sweet spot taps 3 times and then they can reenter the game with no injuries.

5.You can also change this to do 5 jumping jacks or run in place any movement that they can do repetitively.

    • After a few rounds have players dribble a ball and play

    • Change sweet spot taps with “dancing on the ball”

    • Don't use Soccer Balls and have them do jumping jacks on the side

    • Encourage players to tag each other’s arms

    • Encourage players to be creative with how they avoid other’s tags

    • If players tag each other at the same time they both have body parts to hold.

Reflection: Self-Management & Social Awareness

1. How did you try to avoid being tagged?

2. What strategies did you use to be successful in this game?

3. Who can you shout out?
