Try and get to the finish line before anyone else.

  • Set up a start and finish line

    • cones (optional)

  • The goal of the game is to get to the other side without Mr. Fox sending you back.

  • 1. Designate the facilitator or a player as “Mr. Fox.”

    2. Everyone else lines up on one side of the space, with Mr. Fox at the other end.

    3. All together, players yell “What time is it Mr. Fox?”

    4. Mr. Fox responds in one of three ways:

    ● Calling out a number 1-12 as in: “It is 8 o’clock”

    ● “Nap time!” All players pretend to sleep.

    ● “Dinner time!” Mr. Fox chases players back to their original line.

    5. When Mr. Fox calls a number, they count down from that number to zero. If players are still moving at 0, they go back to the original line.

    6. If players cross the line, they stay there and help Mr. Fox spot players still moving at the end of the count.

    7. The round can end either when all players cross the line or after a certain amount of time.

  • ● Try a similar game with funny steps Mother May I

    • For younger students count slower

    • If playing outside encourage players not to sleep on the ground

Reflection: Self-Management

1. Do you like being Mr. Fox or the runners better? Why?

2. What strategies did you use to be successful?

3. Who would like to shout out someone in the game?
