Peanut Butter & Jelly
A group tag game with a balance challenge.
-
Open Space with clear boundaries
-
One cone or cup per person
-
The goal of the game is to tag the other player without letting the eraser fall off your head.
-
1. Split teams into “Peanut Butter” and “Jelly”.
2. In separate corners of the space, have one Peanut Butter and one Jelly place an eraser on their head.
3. Begin the game saying either, “Peanut Butter chase the Jelly” or “Jelly chase the Peanut Butter.” You can change this relationship in the middle of a round!
4. If a player is tagged OR the eraser falls off their head, the other team gets a point. 5. If your team gets the point, all of their players do a star jump. If your team does not get the point, everyone does a squat jump.
6. Choose new representatives from each team and begin again.
-
● If you play this game outside, arrange all players in a grid, and have the game within the grid.
● For older kids, you can also have players make “Streets” by extending their arms to create lanes to run down. You can alter the game by turning “Streets” into “Alleys” and have all players turn 90 degrees to create lanes a different way.
● Create different team names to mix boys and girls on the same team
-
Check that players aren't putting their hair through their hats
Have players walk or roll their feet when they walk
