Social Awareness & Passing 2.0
Objectives:
SEL: Players will be able to identify & describe the feelings of other teammates); encourage and support others (teammates) through challenges and obstacles.
SOCCER: Players will be able to demonstrate effective passing techniques.
Day 1:

15 min- Warm Up: Tic-Tac-Toe
5 min- Soccer Focus Intro: Passing Skill: Give and Go
15 min- Dribbling- Unopposed: Give and Go Goal
15 min- Dribbling- Opposed: Give and Go Goal with Defender
25 min- Scrimmage

Soccer Skill Question:
1. What is the “give and go”?
-Give and go: Player 1 dribbles at a defender, then passes to Player 2 who is close to them. After passing, Player 1 runs around the defender and Player 2 passes it right back to them.
2. How does this move help us in a soccer game?
SEL Question:
This week we are continuing to work on our Social Awareness. What is social awareness?
-recognizing how others are feeling and supporting them

-I gave them a shout-out, I checked on them when they were hurt, I encouraged them to try again.

Soccer Skill Question:
1. What is Triangle Passing?
-Triangle: 2 players make a triangle shape to give passing options to the player with possession of the ball
2. Why are Triangle shapes helpful to the team?
-It gives the player with the ball more choices of where to pass it. It helps us spread out!
SEL Question:
1. Who can shout out someone who made them feel happy today or who supported them on the field?
2. How can you do the same for others outside of soccer practice?
